If you enjoy the coffee of Hawaii, you'll want to try this coffee grown in Ka'u. Lying east of Kona, this coffee from Ka'u is grown near the Kilauea volcano where the coffee tree thrives on the volcanic soil. The climate, with sunny warm mornings and cool evenings, allow for the beans to mature more slowly and develop a complexity in its flavor profile. The Ka'u Coffee Mill processes their coffee in three methods - natural, pulp natural, and washed - exploring different techniques and striving to develop the best qualities of their coffee. The mill also serves as a station for neighboring coffee producers to help foster the growth and recognition of Ka'u coffee. In addition, the mill provides job opportunities and sponsors a number of local events in an effort to stimulate their local economy and support their community.
We selected the natural for its sweetness with layers of flavor, highlighting notes of vanilla bean and cane sugar. We have less than 150 pounds available, be sure to grab it before its gone!
