Geisha is a variety of coffee renowned for its exotic, complex flavor profile making it one of the most sought-after varieties in specialty coffee.
Everyone remembers the moment they tried that one coffee that completely changed their perspective on the drink. If you haven't had that moment yet, you're in for a treat.
So many factors play into a good cup of coffee: the preparation, the roast, the country of origin, the varietal. It’s the latter – the plant itself – that has recently been making waves in the coffee scene. In 2004 a varietal called Geisha made an appearance on the world stage and took first prize at the Best Of Panama (BOP) competition. Since then, Geisha has been making lasting impressions in all coffee championships worldwide.
This holiday season we selected a Geisha variety grown in El Obraje, a farm owned by Pablo Guerrero. Originally an apple orchard, he transitioned the farm to coffee applying planting and processing strategies designed for long term health. The coffee he produced is unique, with layers of flavor that are like no other offering we have right now. With notes of honey and orange blossom, we are thrilled to share this exquisite variety with you. With less than 70 pounds available, be sure to grab a bag before its gone!
