This Rwanda Gitesi Lot 51 is quiet and exquisite coffee. We have delicately roasted this coffee to bring out flavors of golden raisin, and sweet brown sugar with the brightness of Tangerine.
The father and son team, Alexis and Aimé Gahizi in West Karongi, Rwanda, are stewards of the land and community as they work to produce delicious and sustainable coffee. In addition to providing organic fertilizer and farming materials, they provide their farmers with free coffee trees, seasonal bonuses, and health insurance.
In 2016, they started the Own A Cow project. In Rwanda, cows are a sign of love and unity, and many consider them the most prized belonging in a family. A cow provides sustainability within coffee families by providing nourishment, revenue, and organic fertilizer for their crops.
