We are excited to continue our partnership with Ally Coffee Importers and the El Obraje farm in Colombia. We first introduced you to Pablo Guerrero's farm by featuring his geisha variety during the holiday season that sparkled with notes of honey and orange blossom. The quality and care he took in his coffee was evident, which led us to feature this variety, caturra, a more common plant grown throughout Central and part of South America.
Originally an apple orchard, Guerrero transitioned the farm to coffee by applying planting and processing strategies designed for long term health. He was the first to introduce coffee to the Tangua area outside the city of Pasto, with the high altitudes and fertile soil giving his coffee plants a place to flourish. While it was a risky move at the time, others are following in his footsteps. We are proud to share his coffee with you, with tasting notes of orange, butterscotch, and caramel.
