“What is it you want, Mary? You want the moon? Just say the word and I’ll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey, that’s a pretty good idea. I’ll give you the moon, Mary.”
In Frank Capra’s 1946 film It’s a Wonderful Life, George Bailey (James Stewart) makes this offer to Mary (Donna Reed) while out on an evening stroll together. It’s a big, romantic gesture—sweeping and majestic in its youthful grandeur.
This holiday season, Joe Van Gogh wants to lasso the moon for you!
We try our best all year-round to offer the best coffee and the best customer service that we possibly can. Even though we’ve been doing this for over thirty years, we still approach each new partnership—with producers, importers, and cafes—with the same thrill and excitement of connecting people in our community through coffee.
When deciding which coffees would go into our Home for the Holidays blend this year, we wanted to evoke the familiar flavors of the season. The base is a Colombian coffee that brings a strong chocolatey note. A natural Ethiopian brings the bright, sugar sweetness. And a washed African ties it all together like a bow. We’re excited to share it with our family and friends, and we hope that you will be too.
Every year since 2009, we’ve donated a portion of the profits from our Home for the Holidays blend to our local Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the Triangle. So far, we’ve donated over $15,000 dollars! Each bag sold this year helps Habitat achieve their mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
