Both of these cooperatives are part of the Sidama Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (SCFCU), an umbrella organization representing 47 cooperatives and 80,000 coffee producers spanning across the Sidama zone of southern Ethiopia. The SCFCU was founded in 2001 to support members through training, marketing, and developing producer-buyer relationships. By improving farming practices and quality control, producers have seen higher prices paid for their coffee. The union also contributes to the socioeconomic well-being of producers by providing access to credit and education programs in these communities. By working with the SCFCU through our trusted importers, we are excited to have discovered these two coffees to share with you!
