WE ARE EXCITED TO INTRODUCE THREE FEATURED MICROLOTS!
Aside from being a high quality cup of coffee, a microlot is a limited supply harvest - whether it is a small portion separated from a larger lot due to processing or variety OR it can be a single small farm's entire harvest with limited supply. Read on to check out our three offerings!
SUMATRA LAKE TOBA : NATURAL PROCESS MICROLOT
When unique is what you seek, you will not want to miss this gem from Sumatra! Only 396 pounds of this coffee were produced this crop year, and we bought a third of it from Ric Hariyanto, our quality obsessed, entirely innovative supplier from Sumatra and Java. Along with pioneering exceptionally clean, washed coffees from Sumatra (rather than the traditional wet-hulled coffee common to the island), Ric is also experimenting with natural processing. No easy task in the wet, humid climate of Sumatra. This Lake Toba coffee is the result of that first experimentation, and it is a one-of-a-kind coffee, with depth, fruit and butterfinger sweetness.
JOSE FRANCISCO MICROLOT OF JINOTEGA, NICARAGUA
Jose Francisco's small farm is located in one of the prime coffee cultivating regions of Jinotega, in a unique micro-climate. The high altitude, with its increased cloud cover and colder climate, causes the coffee to mature at a slower rate, resulting in a more complex, sweeter cup! Francisco harvested less than 4,000 pounds of coffee this year, and we have approximately 400 pounds available - get it while our supply lasts! Notes: Champagne Mango, Salted Caramel, Juicy
DON ISIDRO MICROLOT OF JINOTEGA, NICARAGUA
Don Isidro's region is blessed with some of the highest altitude and most fertile soil in Nicaragua, beans from this region have won the cup of excellence many times. With a meticulous attention to detail, Don Isidro uses drying racks in order to sort out imperections by hand. Don Isidro harvested less than 3,000 pounds of coffee this year, and we have approximately half his lot available! Notes: Crisp White Wine + Grapes, Bright
