DON ISIDRO MICROLOT
A SINGLE FARMER LOT
Altitude: 1500+ meters
Notes: Crisp White Wine + Grapes, Bright
We are proud to bring back the coffee from Don Isidro’s farm this year! The coffee grown in this region is blessed with some of the highest altitude and most fertile soil in Nicaragua, beans from this region have won the cup of excellence many times. With a meticulous attention to detail, Don Isidro uses drying racks in order to sort out imperfections by hand. He harvested approximately 5,000 pounds of coffee this season (a very small lot compared to many other larger farms and estates!), and we have approximately a third of his lot available to bring to you!
Find it featured this month in store available to order from our pourover menu, cold brew on tap, or take home a bottle of our cold brew coffee concentrate!
NICARAGUA LAS NUBES
A WOMEN RUN COOPERATIVE
Bordering the mountainous regions of Matagalpa and Jinotega lies the Las Nubes (Clouds) Cooperative. This cooperative is managed and run by women, who all won their leadership positions through elections. We have teamed up with Gold Mountain Coffee Growers to bring this group of producers premium prices along with technical assistance, microcredit loans, both running water and textbooks in the local school, and free computing classes for women of all ages. The relationship between Las Nubes and Gold Mountain Coffee Growers results in the highest prices coop members have ever received for their coffee.
